Education is a key pillar in the development of our members, families, communities and by extension our country. It is often referred to as the great equalizer. However education is expensive. Many households struggle with such expenses daily. As a result many children are unable to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them. Our credit union understanding this, introduced its Annual Bursary Programme. This vital programme aims to assist members who are parents/guardians of students entering form one of secondary schools with a $500 bursary. This programme runs during the summer (July- August)
The general rules are as follows:
1. Eligible Students: Students entering Form 1 of any secondary school (wrote common entrance exam)
2. The applicant (awardees' parent/ guardian) must have been a member of the Society for at least one year prior to the qualifying common entrance examination.
3. The applicant (student's parent/guardian) must not have any delinquent loans at the time of the application and must be in good standing.
4. Priority will be given to students who are not recipients of similar support from other sources.
5. Bursaries will be awarded based on performance/grades obtained at the Common Entrance Exam
6. Only fully completed applications will be considered. Result Slips must be presented with Application Form. Forms are available at any of our branches
7. The deadline to submit applications is 31st July. Application forms can be collected and filled out at any of the branches or can be obtained on our website.
